City of Austin: A creative Ozone Season promotional idea.

 

The City of Austin (COA) is doing several different promotional activities in conjunction with related items to encourage clean air activities .  When choosing promotional items, the goals were for the item to be visible, useful, and economical.  For example, COA employees are encouraged to not drive during the lunch hour and instead bring their lunch, especially on ozone action days.  For this particular campaign, a lunch pack was created with clean air messages on the front.  Another program is to encourage employees to walk or ride a bike to work.  For this promotion, pedometers are given out so employees can track their progress.  There was interest from other Partners regarding the promotional items.  It was suggested to have the Partners name and contact information on the website so they can get in touch with each other to discuss these ideas.  City of Austin is also working on an employee incentive program for the purchase of green vehicles.  City parking cards may be available to those who purchase green vehicles.  Details of this program will be forthcoming.
